When: Saturday, May 12, 2012 Where: Pacific Crest Trail Cleveland National Forest In the mountains @ 1 hour east of San Diego
Start Time: 6 a.m. ENTRIES ARE NOW AVAILABLE. 150 RUNNER LIMIT.In Remembrance of Timothy Ray Tim Ray ran last year’s PCT 50 in 9:22. Two days later, at the age of 31, he passed away of a heart attack. This year we are running in his memory. A graduate student/researcher at UCSD/Scripps Oceanography, Timothy was concerned about man’s impact on the environment. In his honor, I will be donating $10 from each entry to Oceana—one of Tim’s favorite organizations. If you would also like to make a contribution to honor Tim’s memory, you can do so at http://www.oceana.org If you would like to find out a little bit more about Tim, please read the blog written by his good friend, Ben Horne: http://zoomloco.xanga.com/747964229/tim-and-life-awesome-run-great-job/ About the PCT 50
Join us as we run 50 miles via the single-track Pacific Crest Trail in the Cleveland National Forest. The run starts at an elevation of 3,000 feet and climbs to 6,000 feet, with changing eco-cultures and beautiful vistas. As always, traditional Cuban feast at the finish! Tech tees and finishers' medals. In addition to the contribution to Oceana, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Wounded Warrior Project, SD Sheriffs Search & Rescue, and SD Mountain Rescue Team.
